Payment & refund policy
This page sets out, in full, how cancellation and refunds work for advertising placements booked with Portage Signal. It expands on the summary in our Terms of Use.
1. Scope
This policy applies to all three placements we sell: the Downtown Directory Listing ($205 CAD), Signal Weekly Podcast Mentions ($580 CAD), and the Full Coverage Partnership ($1,190 CAD).
2. Free-cancellation window
You may cancel a confirmed placement free of charge if you notify us more than five business days before its confirmed start date. In this case, we refund the full amount paid.
3. Late cancellation
Cancelling within five business days of the confirmed start date, once creative work has begun, may result in a partial refund reflecting the production work already completed. We will always tell you the specific amount before finalising a late cancellation.
4. Once a placement has run
Once a listing has gone live, or a podcast mention has aired, that portion of the placement is not refundable. For multi-part placements such as the four podcast mentions or the Full Coverage Partnership, only the remaining, not-yet-run portion is eligible for a refund if you cancel partway through.
5. How to request a cancellation or refund
Email [email protected] or call +1 438-500-2321 during our business hours, Monday – Friday, 09:00–17:30, Eastern Time. Include your booking reference and the placement name.
6. Processing time
Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method within 5–10 business days of approval.
7. Rescheduling instead of cancelling
If your dates need to change rather than cancel outright, tell us as early as possible — we can usually move a listing or mention to a new date at no extra cost, subject to availability.
8. Returnss initiated by us
If we are unable to deliver a confirmed placement — for example due to production capacity — we will offer you a full refund or a rebooked date at no additional cost, your choice.
